Social Skills Training

"Friendship is a choice and we should all feel equipped to make that choice."

At the Social Growth Center, we are dedicated to helping Teens and Young Adults learn the skills they need to build and maintain meaningful friendships. We trained under the direction of Dr. Elizabeth Laugeson, the creator and founder of PEERS and have extensive experience in working with individuals and families impacted by Autism and overall social challenges. We offer effective evidence-based social skills treatment for teens and young adults. We also have certified providers from the UCLA PEERS® Clinic in both PEERS programs.

Our center is led by Dr. Lucy Vo, CEO and attending psychologist at the UCLA PEERS® Program. With over a decade of experience working with individuals and families impacted by Autism and social challenges, Dr. Vo’s expertise shapes the foundation of our work. Since joining the UCLA PEERS team in 2010, she has been deeply committed to advancing social skills training and fostering community connections.

Alongside Dr. Vo, our exceptional team of certified PEERS® providers brings both extensive training and hands-on experience to every session. Violet Mejia specializes in working with teens and young adults, helping them build confidence and practical social skills. Lily On brings a compassionate approach to teaching evidence-based strategies for making and keeping friends. Our staff is dedicated to creating a supportive, engaging environment where participants feel empowered to grow and succeed socially.
